1891 an der Ecole des Arts Decoratifs und Aktzeichnen an der PrivatAkademie Colarossi in Paris. 1891\u20141892 am Polytechnikum in M\u00fcnchen
1895\u20141900 Studienaufenthalt im Engadin
Ab 1900 bald in Z\u00fcrich, bald im Engadin ans\u00e4ssig
1904 Reise in die Bretagne
Ab 1901 war Christoffel regelm\u00e4ssiger Aussteller bei der Z\u00fcrcher Kunstgesellschaft.
Der Z\u00fcrcher Regierungsrat kaufte mehrere Werke ab 1913.
Christoffel hinterliess 170 seiner Werke der Fundaziun Capauliana.
